ComicBooks For Kids (CB4K), a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that provides comic books to children in hospitals and cancer centers throughout the United States has been awarded the Platinum GuideStar Nonprofit Profile Level from the leader in information analysis on nonprofit organizations.

The GuideStar database includes a profile for every tax-exempt nonprofit currently registered with the IRS.  Nonprofits can update their profiles to contain current information for the millions of people that use GuideStar to learn more about nonprofit organizations and the more than 120 sites that use GuideStar data. Less than ½ of 1 percent of the nation’s 1.8 million IRS-recognized nonprofits achieve the GuideStar Platinum level.

CB4K was founded in 2017 by Mark Weiss, and Diamond Comic Distributors announced involvement with the charity in July (see “Diamond Joins ComicBooks for Kids”). The charity works with retailers and publishers to provide “new” child-friendly comics (or graphic novels), appropriate for readers ages 8 and up, to children in hospitals, chancer centers and medical facilities across the United States.  According to the CB4K website, the organization has delivered over 10,000 comic books to more than 110 hospitals and cancer centers in almost every state. There are many ways for retailers and publishers to donate to this charity. All donations to/for CB4K are tax deductible, and the organization is happy to provide a donation receipt.
