Players take the role of spirits (malice, love, delight, hatred) controlling parts of a person’s head. They compete for area control within the mind, thus shaping the person’s identity. As they move around the board, they invoke certain emotion cards, attempting to control that area. Throughout the game, there are scoring rounds, which is when area control will influence the person’s personality (Bliss and Gloom). The game is for 1 -4 players, ages 15 and up, and plays in 120 minutes. MSRP is $65.00. Release is planned for October.
An expansion Cerebria – Forces of Balance will also release at the same time as the base game. It will add a third side to the game – Balance. The Balance will even out the odds between Bliss and Gloom. It also adds a 5th and 6th player option to the game. MSRP is $50.00.
Mindclash has also harnessed the setting for a card game Cerebria. Cerebria – The Card Game is a faster paced, more accessible version of the board game. Players are collecting fragments of Bliss and Gloom to build a personality from a deck of emotion cards. Players interact more, especially if they like to mess with fellow players’ minds. The game is for 2 -5 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 25 minutes. MSRP is $25.00.
Mindclash funded the game with a Kickstarter in October 2017 and raised more than $525,000 from more than 5,800 backers.
