Greater Than Games is "in friendly talks" with Cheapass Games about a potential acquisition, Greater than Games CEO Paul Bender told ICv2.  Bender cautioned than no deal has been reached.  "[A]ll parties have that [acquisition] as a final goal, but… no details have been worked out," he said.

Greater than Games is best known for its Sentinels of the Multiverse series of games (see "’Sentinels of the Multiverse: Oblivaeon’").

Cheapass Games, founded by James Ernest, is known for its no-frills production and inventive designs.  The best known Cheapass title may be Kill Doctor Lucky, its first release (see "Cheapass Games Revives ‘Doctor Lucky’").  Earlier this year it raised nearly $195,000 on Kickstarter for a card game tied to Phil and Kaja Foglio’s longrunning Girl Genius webcomic.
