McFarlane Toys has released images of its first action figure of Elvis Presley, which will be released in time for the fiftieth anniversary of the release of Elvis's first record later this year. The first McFarlane Elvis is based on photographs from the 'King's' 1968 Comeback TV Special. Dressed in his legendary black leather costume, the highly detailed 6-inch figure comes with a custom stage diorama base complete with chair, guitar, microphone (with stand), and a backdrop based on the informal, in-the-round concert stage used for the TV special.
Elvis remains the top-selling recording artist of all time with estimated sales of over one billion copies worldwide. In 2002 a CD containing 30 of Elvis' #1 hits, sold over nine million copies worldwide. McFarlane Toys' Elvis Action Figure will be available at most music and specialty retailers, as well as select toy stores, with retail prices ranging from $12 to $15.
