New indie comics publisher Cave Pictures Publishing will focus on a line of spiritually meaningful comics. Founded by entertainment executive Mark Rodgers, Cave Pictures plans to release original stories and adaptations of public domain and copyrighted works that have a spiritual component.

The first release from the line will be the six-issue horror-comedy Appalachian Apocalypse from Billy Tucci (Heroes for Hire) and Ethan Nicolle (Axe Cop). The first issue of the tale about country boy J.B. and his estranged wife Anne facing down a horde of zombies raised by the staff of Lilith is due in stores January 16.

Writer Meredith Finch (Rose) and artists Renae De Liz and Ray Dillon (The Legend of Wonder Woman) will tell the fairytale of The Light Princess, a five-issue miniseries about a princess cursed with weightlessness. Release is planned for February.

The courageous few struggle to escape their underground city and the machine tasked with ensuring their way of life in The Blessed Machine, a six-issue miniseries by Jesse Hamm (Batman ’66) and Mark Rodgers. Release is planned for March.

Jim Krueger (Absolute Justice) and artist Well-Bee will retcon the lives of a selfish group of superheroes, who must assess their choices after they are erased from history and present memory in The No Ones. Release is planned for April.

Daniel Bradford (Robot 13) will tell a supernatural Western tale about a masked lawman and suspicious sheriff fighting off the undead to save a frontier town in Wylde. Release is planned for May.
