Games Workshop has announced the release of the Blood Bowl:  Spike!  Presents—2018 Almanac!  to support its fantasy football board game.  The book will be available for pre-order starting this weekend.

The hardcover book is intended as a companion volume for the Blood Bowl game, featuring reprints of all three issues of the Spike!  Magazine, each describing background stories, new game rules, and rosters for teams released since the game’s launch:  the Doom Lords, Naggaroth Nightmares, and Nurgle’s Rotters.

The 2018 Almanac also includes reprints of Blood Bowl-related articles from Games Workshop’s White Dwarf magazine, with rules for using iconic Blood Bowl characters, optional rules for special balls and playing fields, and stats for 41 Star Players.

Rounding out the tome is an updated FAQ for the game and a short story about the Crimson Spikes and the Reikland Reavers.

The latest version of GW’s fantasy football game was released in 2016 (see “‘Blood Bowl’ Returns to the Pitch”).  Earlier this year, a simplified version of the game called Blitz Bowl was released as a Barnes & Noble exclusive (see “Games Workshop Offers Three Intro Games”).
