Events will be held on Friday December 7 and Saturday December 8. The Friday night panel Dennis O’Neil and Beyond: Bringing Change Through Comics will cover O’Neil’s comic scripts of the early 1970s that took on major social issues including racism, poverty and drug addiction. O’Neil will be joined by Christopher Priest, Christopher Herndon, and Kyle Puttkammer. O’Neil will also discuss his career on Saturday during the presentation Dennis O’Neil on Batman and More.
O’Neil was a writer and editor who worked for DC Comics and Marvel Comics from the 1960s through the 1990s. He is known for his work on Green Lantern/Green Arrow, Batman, and The Shadow, as well as editorial work on the Batman Family of titles. He currently serves on the Hero Initiative Fundraising Board as part of the Disbursement Committee.
