Scott Almes’ trick-taking fantasy card game Claim will be released by Deep Water Games in March.

In Claim, players compete to claim the recently-emptied throne of a fantasy kingdom, using cards representing a variety of “followers.”  The cards are played in tricks, and the player who wins the trick gains those followers.  Each follower belongs to one of the five factions that run the kingdom, and the players try to earn the favor of those factions by collecting sets of cards.  The player that wins the favor of three factions wins the game.

Claim is intended for 2 players, ages 10 and up, and takes about half an hour to play.  The game features artwork by Mihajlo Dimitrievski (Architects of the West Kingdom, Raiders of the North Sea).  MSRP is $14.95.
