Ivan Brunetti is making Comics: Easy as ABC in a new Toon Books release edited by Francoise Mouly. Brunetti’s guide will be available on April 2. The hardcover has an MSRP of $16.95 and the sofctcover has an MSRP of $9.99.

In Comics: Easy as ABC, Brunetti gives young readers cartooning basics and step-by-step lessons for making comics. The volume includes contributions from Geoffrey Hayes (Benny and Penny), Art Spiegelman (Maus), Eleanor Davis (Stinky), Neil Gaiman (Sandman), Liniers (The Big Wet Balloon), Jeff Smith (Bone), and more.

Brunetti is an experienced comics teacher, having written the Eisner winning Cartooning: Philosophy and Practice and spoken at universities (see “Barry, Ware, Brunetti at UW”). He is also the author of the children’s mathematics book 3 X 4 (see “Review: '3x4' HC”) and Word Play.
