Originally published in 2014 by Griggling Games, Inc. (see “‘Quartermaster General,’ ‘Destination Neptune,’ More”), Quartermaster General is a somewhat abstracted simulation of World War II in which teams of 1 to 3 players control the Axis and the Allies. Using a card-driven system, players raise armies and navies, deploy them to battlegrounds, and battle opposing forces. Each nation has unique advantages and disadvantages, represented by the cards in their decks.
Ares Games and Griggling Games have partnered together to create a new edition of the game, which has been re-designed for greater ease of play and improved balance. It will also feature new cover artwork. The game’s MSRP and components have not yet been announced.
Roberto Di Meglio, Director of R&D at Ares said the game is going to be the first in a series of collaborations between the two companies: “We are very excited for this partnership with Griggling Games. Our collaboration begins with the new edition of Quartermaster General WW2, but we plan to expand it in the future to include other games designed by Ian Brody, both in the Quartermaster General line and entirely new ones.”
