Yarro Studios will release Atlas Mundi’s Book of Battle Maps, an oversized  full-color, gridded battle map book that lays flat for tabletop gaming. The project is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter.

Atlas Mundi’s Book of Battle Maps includes 30 detailed, full-color, gridded battle maps of common fantasy locations where adventuring parties might roam during a role playing game. The 17” x 11” book has a width of 22” when laid flat, and has a double lamination finish on each page so players can use dry erase markers and affix reusable vinyl stickers to the pages. The tome is manufactured with lay flat binding so players will always have a level surface for their encounter, regardless if they are using a map in the front of the book, or near the back. MSRP is $49.00.

The book is currently being funded via Kickstarter, and has raised nearly $400,000 from over 7,000 backers as of this writing, well past the campaign’s modest $10,000 goal. It will continue through Saturday, March 9. There is a retailer backer level for $250 for 10 books and 5 Dungeon Dressing Sticker Packs. Backer fulfillment is planned for May, with trade release to follow.

The Kickstarter also features two add-on reusable vinyl sticker packs: the Dungeon Dressing Pack for $5 and the Giant Spell Effect Pack for $10.00.

Yarro Studios’ President Tanner Yarro told ICv2 that his background is in manufacturing, and thus he had everything lined up before launching the Kickstarter. Yarro has a history in product and game design, including work on Goliath Games’ Build or Boom, which sold 180,000 units last year worldwide through mass merchants including Walmart and Target. Yarro is working on five books for this year.
