Detective Comics #1000 made its debut last month at comic stores and the news of the theatrical event is just one of many of DC Comics’ plans for the character’s historical anniversary (see “DC Plans Global Celebration Events for Batman’s 80th Anniversary”).
The yearlong celebration will be making a stop at more than 600 theaters this May as each Batman film will play for only one day:

- Batman Returns (1992)- Monday, May 6. Batman Returns saw the return of Keaton as Batman, and brought along Michelle Pfeiffer as Selina Kyle/Catwoman and Danny DeVito as the Penguin.
- Batman Forever (1995)- Sunday, May 12. Batman Forever starred Val Kilmer as Batman, Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face, Jim Carrey as The Riddler, Nicole Kidman as Dr. Chase Meridian and introduced Chris O’Donnell as Dick Grayson/Robin.
- Batman & Robin (1997)- Tuesday, May 14. Batman & Robin featured George Clooney as the Dark Knight and O’Donnell back as Grayson/Robin, Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze, Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy and Alicia Silverstone as Barbra Wilson/Batgirl.
