Marvel Comics has revealed that filmmaker and producer J.J. Abrams, with the aid of his 20-year-old son Henry, has written a five-issue Spider-Man limited series that will debut in September.  Sara Pichelli (Miles Morales, Guardians of the Galaxy) is providing the interior art with covers by Olivier Coipel.

The September-debuting Spider-Man limited series will introduce a new villain to the Spider-Verse.  “Cadaverous” is the name of the new baddie, whose alter ego and connection to Spider-Man remains to be seen.

Spider-Man is the most relatable and in many ways the most protean Marvel superhero, and Abrams is promising “Peter Parker in a way you haven’t seen him before.”
