DC Comics had the top comic and graphic novel of 2019 in comic stores, even as Marvel Comics had the dominant  market share in the channel, according to information released by Diamond Comic Distributors. 

Comics and graphic novel sales to comic stores by Diamond were up 2.54% for the year, with periodicals leading the way with 4.33% growth and graphic novels down 2.01%

Detective Comics #1000 was the top comic of the year, one of two DCs in the ten comics, while Marvel had seven, and Image Comics had one.  Only one of the top ten comics, DC's DCeased #1, was the now-standard price of $3.99; all the rest were up-priced products.

The venerable Watchmen (in a new edition) was the #1 graphic novel of the year in comic stores, with sales driven by the HBO series.  DC had half of the top ten graphic novels, Image Comics had four, and Dark Horse Comics had one.  Marvel had no graphic novels among the top ten.
