Marvel Comics will launch Children of the Atom this April.

Children of the Atom is written by Vita Ayala (Morbius) and features art by Bernard Chang, and cover by R. B. Silva with colors by Jesus Aburtov.  Children of the Atom will follow a new cast of mutant heroes that have been inspired by the X-Men that have come before them.

"The initial seed of the idea actually came from [Editor] Chris Robinson: What if the X-Men had sidekicks?" explains Ayala.  "MY take on it became, what would actual kids from our current time be like, if they were X-Men sidekicks?  What would Gen Z X-Men be like?”

Marvel announced another X-Men team last month in Hellions (see "Mister Sinister Seeks to Reform the ‘Hellions’").
