The classic story of tools baked into cakes has inspired The Great Cake Escape, coming from WizKids this May.

The Great Cake Escape features a three-dimensional, three-tiered, cake-shaped gameboard.  Players try to hide a variety of differently-shaped tools by sliding the tiles between the layers of the cake, while trying to push the other players’ tools out so the “guards” can spot them.  The player who can secret the most tools in the cake wins.

The game comes with the three cake layers, designed to nest together for easy storage, along with 44 tool tiles.  It is intended for 2 to 4 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in under half an hour.  MSRP is $29.99.

The release follows the April launch of Ultra Deluxe 2D Arcade Mega Fighter (see “Relive Arcade Battles with ‘Ultra Deluxe 2D Arcade Mega Fighter’”).
