Dark Horse CEO Mike Richardson has released a message to retailers via Twitter announcing a cut in output and returnability for comic stores in response to the coronavirus crisis. “It seems that market conditions change on a daily basis, which makes formatting a response difficult,” he wrote. Although details have not been finalized, he listed two initial action items and a commitment to do more.

The number of releases of both comics and graphic novels will be reduced “for the coming months.”

Dark Horse will offer affidavit returns within 90 days “on all periodicals on Final Order Cutoff corresponding to the weekly on-sales dates.”

And the company will “...continue to explore a variety of options intended to help our retail partners.”

“I’ve been in this business for a long time and witnessed our industry weather many storms,” Richardson wrote.  This new threat takes us all into uncharted territory, but we will do our best to help you through it.”
