The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced yesterday that Mattel has agreed to recall 314,000 Batmobiles that were sold around $30 retail between June 2003 and February this year. According to the Commission, Mattel had received fourteen reports of injuries to children from the hard plastic sharp points of the Batmobile's tail wings, four of which required medical treatment. Mattel has advised these toys be taken away from children and has supplied a toll-free phone line to request free replacement tail wings (888-271-9891).
