The Hollywood Reporter has reported that John Malkovich has been added to the cast of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy in the role of a religious cult leader that was created by the book's author, Douglas Adams, specifically for the film.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie, from Spyglass Entertainment/Walt Disney Pictures, has taken over half a decade to make it through all the stages of the approval process (see 'Hitchhiker's Guide Gets the Green Light'), and will finally begin shooting this month in London. Unfortunately, Adams didn't live long enough to see his book reach the big screen (see 'So Long, and Thanks For All the Fish').
