Z-Man Games will release Cryo, a sci-fi worker placement game designed by Tom Jolly and Luke Laurie, in Spring 2021.

In Cryo, players find themselves stranded on an uncharted, frozen planet following the apparent sabotage of their ship.  Players will take the role of leaders of separate, hostile factions competing for control over the land and resources, including underground caverns that provide safe environments for long-term survival.  Using drones, players will gather the various resources needed to upgrade their engineering platforms to gain access to new actions to customize their strategy for success.

The art for the game is inspired by bande dessinee art of the 70s, including the styles of Moebius and Jean-Claude Mezieres.

The game box includes 40 cards, 14 cavern tiles, 12 damage markers, 60 resource tiles, 33 incident tokens, 8 reference cards, a score pad, and a rulebook. Cryo is for two to four players, ages 14 and up; plays in 90 minutes; and will retail for $59.99.

Z-Man Games recently announced a new edition of Carcassonne: Hunters and Gatherers (see "Z-Man Games Unveils a New Edition of ‘Carcassonne: Hunters and Gatherers’").
