The Gem Mint 10 Charizard #4 hologram cards continue to stabilize after their ride to the moon in 2020 (see "Gem Mint 10 'Pokemon TCG' Charizard #4 Hologram Card Hits the Heritage Auction Block in January "). In a recently PWCC auction posted on eBay, a PSA 10 shadowless copy yielded $311,800 as a final price which is actually up from the sale of a copy in January that went for $300,000 at HA (see "Another Heritage Auction Brings Yet Another Record-Setting Sales Number for 'Pokemon TCG 1st Edition' Sealed Product"). However, this auction price still failed to touch the high of $369,000 from last year's Goldin Auctions' sale.
It is common for collectible assets to go through a period of correction and then stabilization after a short term price surge. The Charizard cards have shed 15-18% of their value in Q1 2021 which represents a normal correction after a period of frenzied buying. The next few auctions will determine whether or not these assets are fairly valued on the collectibles market.
