Wizards of the Coast updated the release and event timelines for two new Magic: The Gathering sets, Midnight Hunt and Crimson Vow.
The two new Standard sets will be released on September 24 (Midnight Hunt) and November 19 (Crimson Vow). For Midnight Hunt, retailer timelines for releases and events are as follows:
- Distributor Selection Deadline. July 9, 2021
- Event Scheduling Opens. August 5, 2021
- Prerelease Events. September 17–23, 2021
- Launch Party. September 24–26, 2021
- Friday Night Magic Event Period. September 24–November 5, 2021
- Commander Nights Event Period. September 27–November 11, 2021
- Commander Party (WPN Premium only). October 30–31, 2021
The second set, Crimson Vow, will run into Q1 2022 with its projected dates. The timeline for this set will proceed as follows:
- Distributor Selection Deadline. September 3, 2021
- Event Scheduling Opens. September 20, 2021
- Prerelease Events. November 12–18, 2021
- Launch Party. November 19–21, 2021
- Friday Night Magic Event Period. November 19–February 4, 2022
- Commander Nights Event Period. November 22–February 10, 2021
