Pallisades Toys has provided a peek at the first series of figures based on the cult TV animated series, Invader Zim.  Created by Jhonen Vasquez (Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, Squee), Invader Zim was one of most adventurous American animated series ever.  Cancelled by Nickelodeon after only 26 episodes, the series has garnered a substantial cult following.  With Media Blasters releasing the complete Invader Zim collection on DVD in August (see 'AnimeWorks To Release Invader Zim DVDs'), and the first series of Palisades Invader Zim action figures due out shortly afterwards, retailers should finally be able to exploit one of the coolest properties ever targeted at American youth.

The first series of Palisades Invader Zim action figures, each of which has a MSRP of $14.99, includes Invader Zim himself, GIR, his robot helper, The Almighty Tallest Purple, the leader of the Irken invaders, Ms. Bitters, the aptly-named classroom tyrant, and Dib, the only kid who realizes that Zim is an alien bent on conquering the world.  Each figure features a detailed base taken directly from the show as well as multiple character appropriate accessories.
