Pokemon took six of the top seven slots and 15 of the top 25, the most dominant performance of recent times. Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG had the #3 and #9 products, ahead of all Magic: The Gathering releases, and four products in the Top 25, a tie with Magic: The Gathering. A Digimon Card Game release was also ahead of the top Magic product on the chart; it was one of two in the Top 25 for the month.
Only four brands were represented among the Top 25 in December, the lowest number we can remember. Noticeably absent were newer games Flesh and Blood and MetaZoo, which had appeared on the chart in recent months.
