Daniel Cherry III, who was hired as SVP and General Manager of DC in 2020 as part of that company’s restructuring, has left, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which cited “multiple sources,” all anonymous, and stated that his departure was abrupt and was “characterized as ‘quitting.’”

ICv2 requested confirmation from DC, which declined comment; the company does not discuss personnel matters.

Cherry was hired in the wake of a wave of layoffs at DC (see “Daniel Cherry Named as DC General Manager”). His duties included “business affairs editorial, talent services, marketing, sales, brand and direct to consumer,”  and he reported directly to Pam Lifford, President of Warner Bros. Global Brands and Experiences; he also shared oversight of DC’s business development with SVP Business Strategy, Finance, and Administration Anne DePies.

Before coming to DC, Cherry was Chief Marketing Officer at Activision Blizzard Esports. Prior to that, he had a series of senior marketing positions, including Chief Marketing & Innovation Officer at the Prudential Center & New Jersey Devils, SVP Marketing North America at beer and spirits company Diageo, and CMO for the New York Cosmos.
