ICv2 learned at last weekend's BEA that IDW has signed a deal to publish comics based on next fall's second CSI spin-off, CSI New York. Currently scheduled to begin in November, this new comic series will be written by prolific and popular crime writer Max Allan Collins (Road to Perdition, Ms. Tree, Dick Tracy, CSI, CSI Miami).
Additionally, ICv2 also learned that IDW will work with Simon & Schuster to create mass market paperback versions of its CSI comics. Due to the smaller page sizes, the artwork will have to be reformatted to fit the pages. Simon & Schuster will distribute these books to chain outlets. IDW chose to partner with Simon & Schuster on this project as it will allow racking of these comic paperbacks with S&S's line of prose mass market CSI and CSI Miami paperbacks.
