Scholastic has announced a new volume in Dav Pilkey’s Cat Kid Comic Club series, which is published under its Graphix imprint.

Cat Kid Comic Club: Collaborations will be released on November 29, 2022 as a 224-page hardcover with an MSRP of $12.99.

The series, which is rated for ages 7 to 10, combines Pilkey’s trademark cheeky humor with light-hearted lessons about comics-making and creativity, with segments of the story told in a variety of different media.

While Pilkey’s long-running Dog Man series still tops the charts, the first two Cat Kid graphic novels were the second- and fourth-best selling kids’ graphic novels in the BookScan system in 2021 (see “Full Year 2021 NPD BookScan – Top 20 Kids Graphic Novels”). The third volume, Cat Kid Comic Club: On Purpose, was released in April and topped the BookScan chart for that month as well (see “April 2022 NPD BookScan – Top 20 Kids Graphic Novels”). It also placed in the ComicHub top 20 in April (see “Top 20 Graphic Novels – April 2022”) and May (see “Top 20 Graphic Novels – May 2022”).
