DC Comics is bringing back the World War II soldier Sgt. Rock to fight a zombie army in DC Horror Presents: Sgt. Rock vs. The Army of the Dead, a six-issue limited series written by actor Bruce Campbell, who played Ash in Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead movies. Eduardo Risso (100 Bullets) is the artist. The series is set in 1944 and pits Sgt. Rock and Easy Company against a horde of dead Nazis resurrected by Hitler’s scientists in a last-ditch effort to win the war.

The first issue will go on sale on September 27 with a main cover by Gary Frank, a variant cover by Francesco Francavilla, an extra-gruesome Duffel Bag Gore variant by Frank Quitely, a 1:25 variant by Charlie Adlard, a 1:50 variant by Chris Mooneyham, and a 1:100 variant by Pia Guerra.
