ADV Films has announced that it will release Aquarian Age: Awakening, the first volume in the popular Aquarian Age anime series, on September 14.  The initial Aquarian Age DVD includes five episodes and is available in a regular edition (SRP $29.98) as well as in a limited Collector's Edition, which comes with original Japanese trading cards and an attractive custom series art box (SRP$39.98).

Adapted from a popular Japanese trading card game, Aquarian Age first became a popular manga (published in the U.S. by Broccoli Books) and then was adapted into an anime series by Madhouse Studios (Sakura Wars, Chobits, X).  The Aquarian Age manga series from Broccoli has been a consistent performer in U.S., enjoying high rankings on the Neilson BookScan list, which charts graphic novel sales in bookstores -- a sign that ADV's Aquarian Age anime series should also perform well.
