A post-apocalyptic fantasy world will be the setting for Cubicle 7’s upcoming Broken Weave game book, which will also mark the launch of the company’s new C7d20 game system.

The Broken Weave will feature a tragic fantasy setting during a time following an apocalyptic event that has lead to the death of the gods and the collapse of civilization.  A mysterious force known as “Decay” threatens to warp the survivors and destroy the memory of what came before.  The players become survivors of the Broken World, seeking artifacts and wonders of the past and harnessing the power of Hope while protecting and growing their Haven of survivors.

The setting will be built using Cubicle 7’s new C7d20 game system.  C7d20 is designed to be fully compatible with 5e while appealing to audiences that enjoy a broader range of playing styles.  A separate C7d20 core rulebook will also be available later this year.

Broken Weave will feature character classes tailored to the setting, Lifepath rules for creating character backgrounds, and mechanics for Hope and Decay.  Also included are guidelines for “Breaking” monsters from other 5e settings by applying Decay effects and “Generational Play” systems that allow players to retire their heroes and create new ones by advancing the timeline of the story and continuing the development of the Haven.

Cubicle 7 plans to raise funds for the production of Broken Weave through a Kickstarter campaign in February.

Cubicle 7 is also developing a new role playing game based on Warhammer 40,000 entitled Imperium Maledictum (see “Cubicle 7 to Launch New ‘Warhammer 40,000’ RPG”).
