These new boxed sets provide players new ways to expand their armies. The sets come ready for matched play, featuring Pitched Battle profiles, rules for adding them to the Grand Alliances, and new abilities. Each regiment comes with a Hero character that the rest of the battalion must stick close to during deployment. The six boxed sets are as follows:

Norgrimm’s Rune Throng: Comes with a Runelord, 10 Irondrakes, and 10 Longbeards.

Veremord’s Shamblers: Features 21 miniatures led by a ward-breaking graverobber.

The Coven of Thyrx: Contains 14 miniatures; a gang of Tzeentchian daemons and their summoner.

Hargax’s Pit-beasts: Box comes with three big beasts, including Hargax.

Big Grikk’s Kruleshots: This box features a gang of 7 monster hunter miniatures.

Elthwin’s Thorns: Showcases 6 half-mad Sylvaneth with zephyrwing sprites.

Games Workshop also announced three new Warhammer 40,000: Boarding Actions boxed sets, which will be headed to preorder soon (see "'Warhammer 40,000: Boarding Actions' Boxed Sets").
