This game was initially crowd-funded on Kickstarter, where it raised $225,510 from 8,059 backers (about $28 per backer). Fit to Print, made by Tiny Towns designer Peter McPherson, is an abstract strategy puzzle game that is set in a world created by Ian O'Toole. In this game, players assume the roles of one of the editor characters in charge of Thistletown's local newspaper.
Each round, players draft newspaper tiles from a pool in real time and arrange them into a front page. Then, they go into a "Layout" phase, where they consider the placements of the centerpieces, articles, photos, and ads. After that, it is off to presses and the first player to make it to press gets their choice of centerpiece for the next round. Players score points for the size of the articles on their page, placement, and balancing the mood of the article. They also lose points for any unused tiles.
The game box includes 6 Newspaper boards, 6 3D Desks, 120 Newspaper tiles, 12 double-sided Centerpiece tiles, 6 Starting Centerpiece tiles, 36 Breaking News cards, 6 Character cards, 6 Finishing tokens, a scorepad, and a rulebook. This game is for one to six players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 15 to 30 minutes.
AEG and Flatout Games had previously teamed up to win the 2022 Spiel des Jahres award with Cascadia (see "Spiel des Jahres Winners Announced").
