Michael Mann's stylish crime drama Collateral dominated the weekend box office with an estimated take of $24.4 million, marking the eleventh consecutive top box office opening for star Tom Cruise.  Collateral's per theater average of $7653 was far better than any of its competitors in the top ten.  M. Knight Shaymalan's The Village dropped a whopping 67.3% in its second weekend of release, but still had enough juice to finish just ahead of The Bourne Supremacy and The Manchurian Candidate, which dropped 41% and 46% respectively and finished in the third and fourth spots.

Spider-Man 2 fell only 36% during its sixth week of release and finished at #7, adding some $5.5 million, bringing its cumulative to $354.5 million.  Catwoman plummeted 54.95% and fell to number 10 in its third frame.  The even more disappointing Thunderbirds fell to number 15 in its second weekend.
