Wizards of the Coast updated details on the upcoming Magic: The Gathering - Commander Masters set. It is set to hit retail on August 4, 2023 (see "'Magic: The Gathering - Commander Masters'").

WotC showcased some of the new card treatments available for this premium set. There are two noteworthy new card treatments included in this set: Borderless Profile Legendary Creatures and Borderless Frame Break cards. The Borderless Profile Legendary Creatures feature a legendary creature with a side profile or close up shot of the character, and they are randomly inserted into in each Commander Masters booster pack.

The Borderless Frame Break cards make the artwork appear as if it was going beyond the limits of the frame. There are 12 frame break cards in the set: 1 uncommon, 5 rares, and 6 mythics. The set will also include an array of extended-art, foil-etched, textured foil, and borderless cards. There will also be retro frame lands with art by Mark Poole, Alayna Danner, and Rebecca Guay.

WotC also revealed various important dates for fans and retailers to note. They are as follows:

• Previews Begin: July 11, 2023
• Commander Deck Previews: July 17–20, 2023
• Pre-Prerelease with LoadingReadyRun: July 22, 2023
• WPN Premium Store Preview Events: July 28–30, 2023
• Release Date: August 4, 2023
