Beverly Kranz of Collectors Ink in Chico, California saw that retailers are going to vote on the date for Free Comic Book Day (see 'FCBD 2005') and the comments from Gail Burt of Metropolis Comics (see 'Gail Burt of Metropolis Comics on FCBD Date') and shared her thoughts:

I would like to thank Gail Burt of Metropolis Comics for putting into words what I was thinking.  Also, a thank you to Joe Krolik for a great idea.

I would like to point out that many times the same facts can be interpreted different ways to reach entirely different conclusions.  For example, Teresa Moran of Acadiana Book and Comic Shop says 'I was all for the May date until we had our biggest FCBD event yet, and it was July 3rd this year on a tough holiday weekend!' and seems to conclude that this year's event was bigger than the previous two because of Spider-Man 2.  However, I suggest that it may have been bigger simply because it is the third one we have had and the momentum is growing, therefore it possibly would still have been their biggest FCBD event yet even if it had been the first weekend of May.  Who knows, it might even have been bigger in May.
