Sponsored.  IDW Originals is thrilled to terrify readers with Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees, a 6-issue Cozy horror series by writer/artist/director Patrick Horvath (HaHa).

Debuting in October, this beautifully illustrated serial killer saga can best be described as Dexter meets Richard Scarry's Busy Town.

Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees follows Samantha Strong, an adorable brown bear who runs a hardware store in the sleepy forest town of Woodbrook.  Samantha is beloved by her fellow anthropomorphic animal neighbors... but she has a dark secret.  Samantha is a serial killer, and while she would never prey on any of the locals in her beloved Woodbrook, she slips away into the big city to act upon her violent urges and select her victims.

Issue #2 (A)
Samantha’s quiet life of selling hammers (and hammering in heads) is perfect... until a grisly murder alerts her to the existence of a second serial killer in Woodbrook who refuses to play by her rules.

In an early review of Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees, AIPT praised the book, saying "If IDW Originals continues to put out comics like Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees, many Eisner Awards are in their future."

"One of my guiding principles for this series is to strike a balance between cute, fun, dark, and disturbing, and I think that readers will be very pleased with the results," Patrick Horvath told IGN, "It struck me as sort of profane, but setting this story in an idyllic little town of animal-folks just felt like the absolute right move.  You can't help but want to see how the events play out issue-by-issue, watching the horror unfold in this adorable community."

Issue #1 (B)
Each issue of Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees will feature a delightfully disturbing story book style variant cover by superstar artist Riley Rossmo, comprising a collectible set of 6.
