DSTLRY has announced a new comic series, Somna, by Becky Cloonan and Tula Lotay.  The series flows from the story “What Blighted Flame Burns in Thee?” from the anthology The Devil’s Cut and is written, drawn, and colored by both creators, who have been working on the story for over a decade.  Set in a small English village during the witch hunts of the 1600s, the story follows Ingrid, the unhappy wife of a fanatical witch hunter, as she investigates the murder of a town leader while herself being stalked by a shadowy, but seductive, figure.  The first issue is set for release on November 20, 2023, and will have open-to-order covers by both Cloonan and Lotay, as well as incentive covers to be announced later.  The comic will be published as 48-page, oversized, perfect bound issues with an MSRP of $8.99.

Somna is one of eight series that are planned to follow from the stories in The Devil’s Cut (see “DSTLRY Announces 8 Series Will Launch from ‘The Devil’s Cut’”).  Cloonan and Lotay are both Founding Creators of DSTLRY and have an equity stake in the publisher (see “Former ComiXology Execs to Mix Digital and Print with New Publisher, DSTLRY”).
