Back when we started ICv2 it was very difficult to find out which graphic novels were selling well in bookstores, even after the advent of Neilson's BookScan list, because certain titles such as Sailor Moon were listed with children's books rather than graphic novels.  Although the classification system is much better now, something like that happened with Ken Akamatsu's (Love Hina) latest manga series, Negima, which is published by Del Rey.  The first volume in the series was included on the graphic novel list and did very well (see 'Del Rey Manga Line Launches Strong'), but for some unknown reason Negima Vol. 2 was listed in the fiction category and didn't even show up on the graphic novel list we reviewed last week (see 'Naruto Dominates Bookstore Sales').  Negima Vol. 2 actually would (and should) have come in a very strong second with sales a scant seven percent lower than the chart-topping Naruto.  Both titles made the overall list covering all fiction sold in bookstores with Naruto Vol. 4 coming in at #20 and Negima Vol. 2 at #23.
