The GAMA Retail Division board has named Gabriel 'Mondo' Vega of Name of the Game in Camarillo, California as its representative on the GAMA Board of Directors. The vacancy was created by the resignation of Steve Nicewarner as a protest over the board's reaction to GAMA-gate (see 'GAMA Board Member Resigned in GAMA-Gate Protest'). Nicewarner will remain as the chairman of the board of the GAMA Retail Division (GRD).
The GAMA board had previously refused to accept Nicewarner's resignation. But the GRD board 'felt that the circumstances surrounding Mr. Nicewarner's resignation made it difficult for them to work together,' according to the announcement.
The entire GAMA Retail Division board has been invited to the GAMA board of directors meeting September 20-21. According to the statement, 'The move is an outreach gesture to the GRD to involve them more in long-term planning for GAMA....The board feels that the Retail Division has much to offer in this regard.'
