Once again, the best of the best Warhammer painters submitted their models for judgment at the U.S. leg of GW's painting competition; a second leg of this competition will be held at Essen Spiele this year (see "Two Stops for Golden Demon 2024"). This year's categories were condensed a little with some categories combined into a single category to make room for Warhammer Old World, Necromunda, and The Horus Heresy miniatures as their own categories. This year's competition featured the following categories:
- Warhammer 40,000: Single Miniature
- Warhammer 40,000: Unit or Kill Team
- Warhammer 40,000: Large Model or Vehicle
- Age of Sigmar: Single Miniature
- Age of Sigmar: Unit or Warcry Warband
- Age of Sigmar: Large Model or War Machine
- Middle-earth
- The Horus Heresy
- Warhammer Underworlds
- Necromunda
- Blood Bowl
- Warhammer: The Old World
- Epic Scale
- Youngbloods
- Diorama & Duel
- Open Competition
The Slayer Sword was awarded to Alexandre Dos Santos for his diorama of Cado Ezechiar. The diorama featured a unique mirror-image juxtaposition of the main miniature above ground with a banshee beneath his feet underground.
