Tokyopop has announced the February release of Alichino, the first in a three-volume series by Kouho Shurei.  Described as 'combining elements of fantasy and gothic culture,' the story features beautiful creatures called Alichino that grant wishes to those in need. 

The art is extremely detailed.  Editor Nicole Monastirsky says of the series, 'Alichino presents some of the most original and detailed art that Tokyopop has ever published.' 

Shurei has previously won kudos as an illustrator; this is her first full-length graphic novel.
