Despite doing only a disappointing $34 million at the domestic box office, the Punisher DVD was the #1 sell-through and rental DVD in the U.S. and Canada last week, with over 2 million units sold.  Even at average prices that were undoubtedly discounted  below the $27.98 MSRP, the DVD sales accounted for higher retail sales its first week than box office sales through the movie's entire existence.
