The new edition includes a rules update based on the feedback from players over the last five years (see "'Alien' Stalks the Tabletop"). The core book will feature additional new artwork, new content, and a variety of new tools for both players and Game Mothers alike. The new edition will be backwards compatible with previous releases and game material.

This Kickstarter will also offer players a 2E starter set as an entry level product. It will come with abridged 2E rules, character sheets, custom dice, reference cards, various handouts, and an expanded 2E edition of the Hope’s Last Day scenario set. There will also be a new cinematic scenario boxed set offered in the Kickstarter, Rapture Protocol written by Jonathan Hicks and Tomas Harenstam, as well as    a miniatures set to accompany it.
