This 128-page rulebook covers all of the background for this Chaos faction. The book features Battle Traits, Battle Formations, and Heroic Traits as well as Spell Prayer and Manifestation Lores. It also has eight daemon unit warscrolls, exclusively for use with Armies of Renown, and the The Anvil of Apotheosis, which allows players to create their own hero and send them off on their own Path to Glory. This book also comes in a small-format Gamer's Edition that contains a complete set of reference cards.

Alongside the new battletome, GW will release a new Spearhead: Darkoath Raiders boxed set. This army enters the battlefield under the command of a Darkoath Warqueen. She has 10 Darkoath Savagers, 10 Darkoath Marauders, and 5 Darkoath Fellriders accompanying her into battle.

Games Workshop will also release four new Battleforces boxed sets for Warhammer Age of Sigmar into retail for the holiday season (see “Battleforces Boxed Sets“).
