Billionaire Elon Musk replied to an X post from Ian Miles Cheong, a social media influencer, asking "How Much is Hasbro?" (see below).

This comes after Musk harshly criticized WotC and Hasbro for the forward published in The Making of Original Dungeons & Dragons 1970-1977 (see "Musk Ado About 'Dungeons & Dragons'"). The recent reply to Cheong's X post, of course, mirrors comments made when Musk first expressed interest in buying Twitter. In Twitter takeover scenario, Musk casually asked "How much is it?" in response to a Twitter user suggesting he buy the company. Then, a short time after releasing that positng that reply, Musk proceeded to put in a bid on Twitter.

The tease of buying Hasbro comes a day after Musk announced on X that his artificial intelligence startup company, xAI, was opening up an AI game studio aimed at producing new video games. Musk acquiring Hasbro would synergize with plans for his new AI game studio project, providing the startup with access to some of the most well-know game IPs on the market. Dungeons & Dragons would be of particular interest to Musk's AI game studio because the D&D IP has already spawned a number video games throughout the ages, such as the Baldur's Gate series and others, and also comes with other digital assets like D&D Beyond.

The teased acquisition target, Hasbro, recently reported a turnaround in earnings for Q3 (see "Hasbro"). The company currently has an estimated market capitalization of $8.71 billion, but carries $3.95 billion in debt.
