Paul Levitz, DC Comics President and Publisher, has announced that Dan Didio has been promoted to Vice President -- Executive Editor, DC Universe, where he will continue to report directly to Levitz. Didio, who had an extensive background in television and animation before joining DC Comics in January of 2002, set about shaking up America's most venerable comic book publisher by signing dozens of creators to exclusive contracts and putting some of those top drawer creators on a crusade to revive the company's flagship character, Superman. Didio has also presided over the re-launching of Teen Titans and Outsiders and spearheaded the highly successful Identity Crisis. In recognition of the changes that he brought about at DC, Wizard Magazine made Didio its first ever 'Man of the Year' in 2003, and the excitement isn't over yet according to Didio, who noted: 'We have some big things in store for the next year and readers who are paying close attention will see that we are laying the groundwork now.'
