Sponsored.  Departing from the recycled mechanics of the oversaturated trading card game landscape, Warlord: Saga of the Storm looks to prove that old is new in its 2025 first quarter launch!  Kingswood Games, a licensee of Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG), brings fresh gameplay to the card gaming space during the height of D20 literacy and high fantasy engagement.

Warlord: Saga of the Storm ensures electrifying gameplay with back and forth turn actions, captures the magic of tabletop roleplaying with D20 usage, and challenges players with its boss battle organized play system.  During deckbuilding, players have endless options for customization as they choose from four classes and six factions after acquiring cards from randomized booster packs.  The first set – Into the Accordlands – features over 340 unique cards with hand painted art from industry greats.  Choose your Warlord, assemble your starting army, upgrade your deck, expand your collection, and charge headfirst into the Accordlands!

ROLL FOR INITIATIVE
In Warlord: Saga of the Storm, players will roll more D20's in a single game than in five sessions of a tabletop roleplaying game combined.  With back and forth turn actions, games consist of a flurry of strikes and spells, equipment and monsters, as each player competes for dominance on the battlefield until only one player's Warlord remains.

Each 50-card deck is led by a Warlord with one or more classes, a faction, and unique abilities, as well as a fully customizable starting army.  From there, players draw cards, roll for initiative, and take back and forth turn actions as they deploy characters, equip items, and perform attacks and spells.  As characters are killed, armies crumble and Warlords fall ever closer to the first rank where they are vulnerable to opposing forces.  Warlords may prefer to sit back and support their army, sling powerful offensive spells, equip a full set of battle gear, or even rush headfirst into the fray.  While victory is the only destination, there are too many paths to list.

PRINT AND BATTLE
Kingswood Games is so convinced that gaming fans will like Warlord, they've already released six Print & Battle decks on their website – one for each faction.  If you're on the fence about trying another card game, this is a great way to sample Warlord ahead of launch.

Once you've printed the decks, make sure and check out the Warlord Quick Start Rules Video and you'll have all the tools you need to make your first initiative roll.

ORGANIZED PLAY
One of the unique aspects of Warlord: Saga of the Storm is its Organized Play (OP) system.  Each OP kit comes with an overpowered boss called an 'Overlord.'  Players from weekly events will get a chance to challenge the Overlord with their deck from the event in descending order.  Slain Overlords are awarded to their slayer and serve as a ticket to challenge the next level of boss battle: Dragon Lords, available at regional events.  Dragon Lords may be challenged by decks designed specifically to beat them and by redeeming an Overlord (players keep the card).  If defeated, Dragon Lords are awarded to their slayer and serve as a ticket to the third and final stage of Warlord's OP system: Medusan Lords.  Medusans are incredibly overpowered villains awarded to pillars of the community, printed as only two copies (one for the owner and one for a successful challenger) and only take a set number of challenges before retiring.  Defeating a Medusan Lord is the pinnacle of Warlord organized play.

Additionally, throughout the months players will have quests they can complete to earn promo cards and material, as well as top placement prizes.  Warlord OP will support limited draft and constructed rotating Saga formats on launch.  Non-rotating formats such as Ancients and multiplayer formats like Alliance may receive support in the future.

WARLORD AND DRAGON SHIELD
Kingswood Games has worked with card accessory industry leader Dragon Shield to produce a line of matte art card sleeves featuring incredible traditional artwork from Warlord: Saga of the Storm.  Every card sleeve is deeply inspired by the gritty fantasy world of the Accordlands and its leaders.

Dragon Shield is the perfect pairing for Warlord with its fantasy lore and quality products that will help players’ cards survive the many battles ahead.  But it's not just Dragon Shield's premium world class quality that makes their sleeves the ideal choice for Warlord players, it’s also their quantities.  Each Dragon Shield Warlord art sleeve pack contains 100 sleeves, which allows for each pack to protect two whole 50 card Warlord decks!
