In the overarching story, Mephisto is gathering souls to fuel an ancient artifact, the Soul Forge, which would give him power over all human souls, and Doom is out to stop him. The story will play out across seven one-shots by a variety of creators, and each issue will include a backup story by Guggenheim that will reveal more information about Mephisto’s plans as well as the origins of Sister Sorrow, who will have a key role in the storyline.
Bring on the Bad Guys: Doom #1, written by Guggenheim with art by Stefano Raffaele, will kick off the event; it will go on sale on June 5, 205, with a main cover by Lee Bermejo and variants by Mike McKone and Leirix.
That will be followed in July by Bring on the Bad Guys: Green Goblin #1, Bring on the Bad Guys: Abomination #1, and Bring on the Bad Guys: Loki #1 and in August by Bring on the Bad Guys: Red Skull #1, Bring on the Bad Guys: Dormammu #1, and Bring on the Bad Guys: Mephisto #1.
Guggenheim is also writing the new Spider-Man & Wolverine series (see “Spider-Man and Wolverine Join Forces in New Ongoing Series”).
