Lucasfilm announced four new Star Wars projects at the Manga Mania panel at Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025.
Dark Horse Comics will publish The Art of Star Wars: A New Hope – The Manga, a two-volume set spotlighting Hisao Tamaki's original art from the 1997 manga adaptation of the first Star Wars film, with a Kickstarter followed by a retail edition. The two Kickstarter-exclusive editions will be the Collector's Edition, a two-volume hardcover set, and the Masterpiece Edition, a large-format edition reproducing the art at its original size in two 176-page hardcover volumes with a 104-page additional volume. A standard edition will be released in 2026. All feature a new translation.
Two adaptations were also announced at the panel: An adaptation of Timothy Zahn's 2017 novel Star Wars: Thrawn, by writer and artist Man Tsang, and a graphic novel based on the video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, by Mangado. More information will be released on these in the future.
