The distributor made this announcement on their website for the week of April 21, 2025. GTS Distribution would rank the top five board games available for preorder on the front page of their website on a weekly basis. The ranking system was based on preorder data from the previous two weeks, and the individual games pictured in their Top 5 could be clicked on by retailers to place an preorder as a convenience. GTS has put this ranking system feature on hold due to tariffs creating uncertainty as to when the board games on preorder would become available for shipping to retail.
In their announcement, GTS also noted that they are "working hard" to keep their board game listings up-to-date because of the tariff situation. Over the last few weeks, release dates and prices of some board games have been in flux as publishers try to implement strategies to cope with tariffs and adapt to board game print runs getting stranded in China (see "$1.2 Million in Cephalofair Games Stranded in China"). Cardboard Edison recently ran a survey to see what strategies board game publishers are planning on using to deal with the tariffs (see "Fewer Board Games, Higher Prices, Smaller Print Runs, Delays").
